Participating Characters:Honey Lemon , Go Go Tomago and @wildwing Forum Location: Smaller Isles > Floating Isle > San Fransokyo Time of Day: Dusk Weather: Misty, overcast Thread Location: Downtown San Fransokyo, Kisu Towers Premise: One third of Big Hero 6 answer the call of duty. When they find themselves in over their heads, an unlikely source of aid arrives.
Then...
"Oh, Go Go! Look at those!" Honey Lemon dragged her surly friend along in her wake, between the racks and displays of merchandise toward an assortment of handbags. The sale going on at one of Honey's favorite stores was ending that night, and though it'd lasted several days in full, she hadn't had the opportunity before then to visit. Between her studies at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and superhero work, there just hadn't been time.
That evening, though, schedules had cleared and no threat to the city loomed. Honey was determined to go - the sales didn't extend to online shopping - and, grumpy as she was, half-lidded though she stayed, Go Go had agreed to accompany her so she didn't have to go downtown alone. "These would look great on you!"
Honey plucked a particularly ostentatious pair of shades from its more restrained fellows. Beaming enthusiastically, she was about to encourage Go Go to try them on when a muted explosion ran through the tiles underfoot. Honey's wide grin went slack, her eyes unfocused while she listened for the faint, smothered sound of hysteria from outside the store. Adopting a grim, determined expression, she looked at Go Go and nodded.
Now...
On the rooftop of a lesser-storied building surrounded on all sides by the looming skyscrapers of downtown San Fransokyo, the two superheroines stood. Before them, just across the road were the Kisu Towers; named so because, while they weren't the same height, a bridge connected the brow of the lesser to the chin of the taller. Ordinarily they were charming to look at.
Just now, the shorter skyscraper was ringed in flame and smoke two thirds of the way up.
"Looks like it's just the two of us," Honey said, dismissing the GPS display that had been projected on the interior of her helmet's visor. She faced the unfolding disaster. Down on the street below fire and rescue units worked with the SFPD to plan a course of action. "We have to stop the fire from spreading." Honey's mind already thumbed through various chemical configurations; flash-freezing; flame-retarding foam; etc.
"Ready?" Honey asked Go Go. They traded one last look of assent, then moved. Honey's fingers flew across the touchscreen integrated in her purse. A chem-ball popped out into her waiting palm and, taking a run toward the roof's edge, she hurled it forward. Where the orb struck, a dense, pink/violet foam erupted, spilling upward and forward. In microseconds an impromptu, inclined ramp that bridged their rooftop to a higher balcony of the flaming Kisu tower appeared.

Then...
There were times that Go Go Tomago questioned her life choices. This was one of them. Attached at the arm to a tall Latina, being dragged and guided through racks upon racks of clothing, and thrust toward items of varying garishness, a part of Go Go wished she had stayed in and worked on her bike. Afterall, that was her true passion – shopping for supposedly fashionable items was way down the list of 'How Go Go Likes To Spend Her Evenings.'
That said, she hadn't had much of an alternative. Honey Lemon had been excited by the prospect of attending her favoured store's sales for weeks. It was, between study and hero work, almost all she'd talked about. The entire Big Hero 6 squad had watched the chemist's heart break when she discovered the sales didn't apply to online shopping, and thus Go Go, when asked directly - face to face - by a hopeful Honey, if she would accompany her downtown on their first free night in weeks, not even the surly mechanic could refuse.
Friendship had triumphed, a sacrificed had been made – though Go Go didn't have to be happy about it.
'These would look great on you!'
Blinking lazily, Go Go raised a brow and turned to look at the item Honey held out toward her: a bright-to-the-point-of-being-painful pair of sunglasses. Leanign her head back and squinting a little, the Korean simply shook her head a little. “I don't think they'd look good on anyone.” Not that her response deterred Honey. Infact, quite the opposite, the Latina was readying herself to convince her friend to try them on when a muted explosion rocked the ground underfoot.
The smile dropped from her friend's face, and Go Go's expression remained grim, though her shoulders straightened and she became instantly more alert. Sounds of muted screams soon became audible, and the mechanic looked to her friend. “We gotta go,” she muttered, and quickly placed the sunglasses back on the rack – where they belonged.
Now...
Go Go adjusted the set of her skintight super-suit, frowning a little as she looked out from the rooftop on which she stood, eyes fixed on Kisu Towers – the slightly shorter of the connected skyscrapers ablaze. Flames licked about its upper third, and smoke billowed to loftier climes. At her side, Honey Lemon offered advice on the best course of action – to stop the fire spreading, while noting they were the only two members of Big Hero 6 available. Go Go blew a signature pink bubble, popping it, and then removing the gum from her mouth, stuck it to the side of her helmet.
Activating her visor, it dropped into place over her face, and the Korean nodded in agreement, focused. 'Ready?'
“Stop the fire spreading,” she repeated by way of response, though she didn't start moving the moment Honey did. Instead, she waited for her friend to hurl one of her chemical orbs forward, exploding into a big, pink bridge that linked their rooftop directly to Kisu Towers. Once it had formed, Go Go began toward it, building speed rapidly, the mag-wheels on her attire spinning.
In seconds, she had over taken Honey, charging toward the flaming building at an unbelievable pace.

(OOC: Let me know if you need any clarification on the Duckcycle)
Wildwing sighed as he drove through the streets of San Fransokyo on a Duckcycle. The team had just come off a victory at the away game here against their most heated rivals, the San Jose Sharks. It had been a rivalry they'd inherited from Phil's previous team, the Frogs, and one that had proven surprisingly enjoyable. The Sharks were worthy opponents who didn't cheat or pick needless fights during games, and those could be hard to come by in the NHL.
For the moment, the rest of the team had split off to see tourism sights, and the team leader had found himself alone. It wasn't as if there wasn't anything to do in this city, far from it. But he found himself strangely content to drive aimlessly, see where the wind took him.
KRA-KOOM!
And, it seemed, the wind was taking him into a more exciting direction now. A double tower, connected by a bridge in the middle, was currently on fire, specifically the smaller one.
He tapped his armor on and started gunning the cycle towards the building, he spied a strange....pink bridge between it and another rooftop. Hmmm. Maybe that was the best way to get to it.
Kicking his bike into overdrive now, he moved the bike through various other back alleys, gaining height and distance by vaulting off other, smaller buildings. Finally, he made it to the rooftop and drove the cycle onto the bridge.
On it were two young human women, also headed towards the fire, one dressed yellow and black, the other in pink. "Evening!" he shouted. "You ladies need any help?"
Post by Honey Lemon on Dec 30, 2017 10:18:03 GMT -5
By that point in their friendship and superheroism, Honey and Go Go were good at working together and sensing what the other was going to do. It was natural, really, for Honey to sidestep and approach her bridge at an angle so that Go Go, gaining speed fast, could rush on ahead of her. The makeshift ramp may have been sturdy, and well-anchored, but it wasn't wide enough for both of them to safely pass abreast anyhow.
Halfway up the support, Honey's long fingers twitched along her bag again and a second time she lifted a chem-ball; this one an eye-smarting magenta. She reared back her arm to throw it ahead of Go Go when a strange, motorized sound caught her ear much closer than the street many stories below. Honey slid to a halt and, questioning eyes first catching Go Go's, looked over her shoulder.
Coming up from the rooftop they'd just left was an odd kind of motorcycle, and astride it was an even more odd driver. He - Honey guessed from the tone it was a he - called out, asking if they needed help, and the bike jumped nimbly onto the ramp she'd created. Honey's eyes widened to their fullest and she quickly scuttled along the last of the hardened foam and onto the balcony with Go Go to make room.
Confusion warred with puzzlement and a smidgen of wariness at this unforeseen... help? Honey opened her mouth to answer, but Go Go beat her to it; keeping her reply characteristically curt and blunt*. If the situation wasn't already jumping out of hand Honey may have tried to say something to ensure Go Go's clipped attitude didn't offend the strange newcomer, but as it was she only had time for an apologetic smile.
Honey finally loosed her chem-ball. It hit a panel of the glass door of the balcony where it broke and promptly melted a sizable hole to pass through. Honey darted into the corridor it opened onto, again second to Go Go, and looked down one way, then the other. "Stairwell's this way!" she said, pointing at a sign, and set off at a run, long legs far outmatched by the innovations of her friend's suit.
(OOC: *I discussed what Go Go would say with Arien, so after she posts it should work seamlessly with what I wrote!)
Post by Go Go Tomago on Jan 2, 2018 4:36:25 GMT -5
Go Go's mag-wheels had little trouble adhering to the surface of the temporary foam bridge she shot toward, and though it was of a markedly different texture to the rooftop she'd previously skated across, the transition from one to the other was smooth enough. She'd worked alongside Honey long enough to know how to traverse most all her chemical creations.
At the speeds at which she moved, the Korean mechanic had travelled along almost all the pink bridge before she heard the roaring of engines, and while initially passing it off as a service vehicle, she quickly realised it was far too loud to be an ambulance or fire engine, and wasn't accompanied by the signature wail of sirens.
Frowning under her mask, Go Go jumped into the air and performed a movement akin to a simple pirouette, spinning herself around so she faced backward, then twisted her ankles a little, digging in her heels so she came to an abrupt-ish halt, skidding back onto Kisu Tower's balcony. Then, she looked to Honey, who was still on the make-shift bridge, and her nose wrinkled and a quizicall brow raised.
In the near-distance, leaping onto the building they'd just vacated, was a motorbike of odd design, ridden by an ever stranger looking rider. Moving at quite some pace, it headed straight for the foam ramp, causing Honey to scuttle across it to make room. At a similar time, the rider, who was able to make his voice heard over the noise of his vehicle, asked the ladies if they needed any help.
Arms folding over her chest, Go Go's raised, questioning brow dropped and joined the other in a frown, her lips pursing. Dealing with a newcomer was not something she and Honey had time for, and the Korean was far warier than her friend. At best, this was someone they didn't know who was vaguely versed in heroics – someone who might be able to help. At worst, it was the person who'd stared the blaze. There were a whole host of possibilities between those polar opposites, and all of them slowed Go Go and Honey down.
If they weren't proficient, Big Hero 6 didn't have the time to offer guidance in a crisis like the one they faced, no matter how intriguing their motorbike.
“What do you think?” she replied a little curtly, skipping niceties and introductions to get to the point. “The fire's spreading to the upper floors, and it needs containing before it causes any more damage. If you can help, help.” The emphasis on the word 'can' made clear her meaning – if he was someone who was going to get in the way, he needed to turn his bike around and drive back the way he came.
Turning back to the towers, Go Go waited for her friend to find them an entrance – a chem-ball making a sizable hole in a glass panel – before shooting off again, small, lithe form darting inside, before following Honey's outthrust hand, pointing to the stairwell. Shooting off ahead once more, the Korean reached their intended destination as quickly as she could, leaping and angling her body so that her wheels could carry her across the walls of the stairwell – so as to avoid the uneven stairs – and she began her ascent.
Mid-way up, she found a fire hose attached to the hall – common in most buildings – and reached out to grab it, the long objected unreeling as he carried on past it. Unlike Honey who had fire retardant chemicals to throw at the blaze, Go Go had far less to directly combat the fire. A little water might come in useful.

Wildwing skid to a stop on the bike as it exited the ramp and joined the girls on the balcony. The smaller one seemed more annoyed at his presence than anything, telling him that the upper floors needed containing before things went completely pear-shaped and that if he COULD help, then to do so.
Almost amused, he nodded curtly. "Got it!" With that, he followed them to the stairwell, marveling a bit at how well these two handled themselves, especially the yellow-clad one. These were no amateurs; they seemed like they had quite a bit of experience with this kind of thing.
Granted, so did he, but a lot of his expertise was more specifically combat. Putting out fires wasn't something he was used to beyond a very basic level. Still, good time to learn and all that. He'd follow their lead, but offer what he could.
Generating an ice shield on his right arm, he took a forward flanking position ahead of them as he moved with them on the stairs. Spying a fire extinguisher as he reached another floor, he wrenched it away from the wall and....well, the idea he had was a bit crazy, but A. sometimes crazy worked (he'd learned that from working with Tanya and B. these two seemed like they'd be up for just about anything. "I've got an idea!" he shouted, mask helping him see amidst the smoke and flames. "If we combine this with some of those chemicals you have and that water, maybe that could help dampen the spread!"
Of course, that still left the question of just who or what had caused this fire.....
Post by Honey Lemon on Jan 2, 2018 12:28:59 GMT -5
The stranger didn't seem to chafe at Go Go's brittleness. In fact, he jumped right into action alongside the two members of Big Hero 6 without much in the way of hesitation. While they rushed toward the nearest stairwell, Honey decided to give their new helper a little information that she and Go Go had gathered before acting. "SFPD chatter says that the building's been evacuated. All we have to worry about are the flames."
That was some small fortune, at least.
Go Go already had a fire hose ready when she and their helper made it to the first floor aflame. Honey paused, fingers hovering above her touchscreen, when the stranger pried an extinguisher from the wall and proposed a plan. Honey's brows knit, turning the suggestion over in her head. The majority of her mind was focused on the rate that the fire was spreading. The need to be quick in dealing with it. "Suppress it for a second, please!" Honey called over the roar.
Huntite, hydromagnesite, aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, her mind surged through elements used to combat fire. With a quick input of chemical ratios and a duplicate button press, Honey held three chem-balls between the fingers of each hand. With a grunt, she hurled a trio into the consumed hallway the stairwell opened onto.
They exploded, one after the other, loosing clouds of a silver gas. They washed outward, blanketing the hallway from ceiling to floor and automatically hobbling the rage of flames. Honey hardly let this phenomenon unfold when her second trio was thrown into the cloud. These broke apart to fling arms of thick, fizzing foam over the place, fully suppressing the blaze.
The haze of gas was still dissipating when Honey thrust handfuls of chem-balls into Go Go and the stranger's palms. "Go Go! Head down a floor and throw these at the ceilings," she instructed. They would coat surfaces with a protective mixture; a makeshift fire break. She turned to the masked helper. "We need to use these on the largest blazes." Honey's purse strap was now a quarter empty thanks to the amount of chem-balls she'd just injected, but she didn't care.
(OOC: Do let me know if you guys need anything changed!)

Go Go didn't wait around for the newcomer or Honey to catch up with her. Brandishing her firehose, she raced head long up the stairwell until she felt heat, almost blistering against her suit, and then charged toward the inferno. Upon reaching it, she held the hose at the ready, activating its lever from time to time to spurt high powered jets of water at the blaze, doing little to interupt its burning.
It wasn't long before Honey Lemon and the mysterious biker arrived, the later brandishing a fire extinguisher. He suggested some sort of plan, but over the roar of the fire, GoGo couldn't hear any specifics. Indeed, she barely heard her friend over their communication system, asking the pair to hold the flames at bay while she worked.
Acivating the hose more permanently, Go Go sprayed the water in a slow arc, tracking the nozzle from one side of the corridor to the other, unable to push the flames back and settling for stopping them spreading furthr toward them. Luckily, Honey worked quickly, and within moments, small orbs were hurled into the fire, bursting into a silver mist that almost instantly dimmed the blaze's potency. A second set that burst into foam caused it to die completely.
Grinning a little, the Korean deactivated her borrowed hose and let it fall to the ground, it no longer immediately necessary. Turning toward her team mate, she simply nodded her approval – praise could come later, when their work was done. Taking that as a sign that Go Go was ready for the second stage of fire supression, Honey thrust a handful of her chemballs at both her and the man in the duck mask – both given strict instructions about how to utilize them.
“Got it,” Go Go offered, mock saluting to show her understanding. Then, she spun on her heels and darted back the way she'd come, making her way to the stairwell, and then to the floor below the one they'd just saved. Skating down its main corridor, she zipped in and out of offices, hurling the gifted orbs at the ceielings as ordered.
(Note: I figure you guys could write out the path to wherever you were off to, and I can describe Go Go's journey there next post - rather than decide where you are going for you! <3)

Okay, he had to admit that these....whatever balls were pretty impressive. He sprayed the fire with the extinguisher for several moments as the shorter one zoomed up the stairs, spraying all the while on her end with the fire hose. Now she was.....going back down with it. Alright, he supposed that made sense.
The extinguisher ran out after he'd helped suppress some of the flames with it. Wildwing tossed it aside and took the balls that the taller girl now handed him. Eyeing them, he snarked, "You sure these are safe?"
Not much time to dwell on that, admittedly, and he started moving through their floor, tossing them at the larger blazes and watching them die down. Tanya would LOVE these, he thought to himself, looking at the girl. And probably get along with her too.
Belatedly, he realized that he'd never introduced himself or gotten their names. Now that the flames were starting to die down on this floor at least, though, perhaps now was a good opportunity.
Deactivating his ice shield, he stuck out a hand after tossing the last ball at the flames. "Name's Wildwing, captain of the Anaheim Ducks," he said first. That at least might spark a little recognition, he thought to himself. The crimefighting explanation could come later.
