Jim is a very quick learner, especially when it comes to mechanics (his mother often boasts that Jim built his first solar surfer at the age of 8). Jim didn’t have many friends growing up and took to spending time taking things apart and putting them back together in new ways. He has a knack for invention and fixing broken things.
Jim also has impressive coordination and agility. He is able to maneuver a solar surfer with great skill (even through the debris of an exploding planet!).
By the time Jim joined the voyage for Treasure Planet he was already able to hold his own in a fight. However, he has since spent a few months in the Space Military Academy, where he has learned to hone his sills in hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship, and marksmanship.

Game Information:
Everything changed while he was sleeping. You'd think merging realms would make a bang, but really Jim had no idea anything was wrong until several hours later. He was living on Crescentia Space Port while attending the Port Ivy Naval Academy, and so he was off-world when everything on Montressor... moved.
That day Jim woke up late for class. He ran half way to the lecture hall before he realized that everything was in chaos. Ships were departing left and right. People were standing in the street, looking up. Arching a brow, Jim tilted his head back to gaze up (or down... gravity is tricky on the space port) at his glowing home planet... and saw instantly that the continents had completely changed. In fact, it looked they were orbiting a totally different planet.
Jim's first and only thought was for his mother, who lived on Montressor. He and Morph swiped a few provisions and 'commandeered' a small dingy to make it planet-side as soon as he could.
It was later that he learned what had really happened: Magic.
His mother was fine-- still running the Benbow Inn (though, on an island now). Once he was sure she was safe, Jim struck out to explore the new world of Rohandor until the Academy was up and running again.
Anything Else:
Morph: Morph is a pink blob from the planet Proteus I. He floats around and follows Jim everywhere. He can shape shift into anything, taking on its physical attributes, although there are limitations as to how large he can become. For example, when he changes into a copy of Jim, that copy is only a few inches tall. He is also capable of parroting words.
Space Travel: Jim cannot breathe in space. The same technology that facilitates gravity on board the space ships also takes care of maintaining oxygen levels.
Personality: Jim is daring and reckless, brave and strong willed. That said, he is also fiercely loyal. In many ways he is a typical teenage boy, but if you get past the attitude you’ll see he has a heart of gold.

Sample Post
The last guest had finally gone up to bed. Jim had volunteered to wash the last of the dishes and Sarah had gone on up to her room. Now Jim stood at the sink in the silent kitchen of the (New) Benbow Inn, up to his elbows in suds. Morph was, of course, right in the middle of it. The pink blob kept changing into a cup or a plate and sneaking into the pile, so Jim would scrub him clean and put him in the rack to dry. Then the blob would sneak back to the beginning and repeat the game. Jim knew what he was up to, but didn’t bother to scold him.
He’d been home a few days… and of all the ways he imagined coming home this was definitely not on the radar. School indefinitely suspended due to… “Magic.” He said the word under his breath with a scoff and grabbed another greasy pan.
Best case, Jim would have come home an enlisted man in the Space Navy. Worst case, he would have been expelled…. but magic? To have everything he’d been working for come to a screeching halt because magic twisted space and time and oh, sorry Jim-Bo, the rest of the Academy— and the whole army for that matter!— is just missing. Poof! Stars are all wrong. Planet’s all wrong. And now there is magic.
Jim blinked and came out of his daze, realizing he’d been standing there without washing anything, his hands pruning up in the warm water. He sighed deeply and hung his head. “Now what am I supposed to do?”
Stay with me at the Benbow, his mother’s voice said.
Continue your education any way you can! The professor.
Stop moaning about and get on with it. The captain.
And then, another voice… You got to take the helm and chart your own course.
Jim began to scrub again. Magic had made this mess. Maybe it could un-do it. Maybe he could be a spacer after all. And if not… well… he’d improvise.
Jim reached into the water and pulled the plug. While Jim dried his hands, Morph floated up to rest on his shoulder and belched a bubble. Jim smirked. “Wanna get outta here? See something new?”
The blob made a pleased chirrup sound and rubbed itself against Jim’s cheek.
“Me too.”
