Age: 26
Other Characters Played: Basil and Xanatos
How You Found Us: Invite from Jen
Character Name: Tarzan
Gender: Male
Type of Creature: Human
Rank: Forces of Good
Movie/TV Series: Tarzan
Home Island: Isle of the Jungle
Personality:
First and foremost, Tarzan is a protector willing to literally throw himself into harms way to protect others without showing fear. In fact by his own admission he has yet to encounter anything that scares him. He is almost fully selfless in his actions, even willing to show compassion to his enemies unless they persist in creating a threat to others. Thanks to his upbringing he does have the physical ability to back up his role as guardian.
He does not let his duties stop him enjoying himself. He spends a lot of spare time playing in some manner, either swinging through treetops or playing with his friends. His energetic manner keeps him hard to contain. It isn't uncommon to see him move around several spots during a single conversation or even hang upside down from the nearest stable object.
Having spent a lifetime away from other humans Tarzan is naturally curious about any new object or person. while a fast learner he occasionally lacks manners or respect for personal space or property, such as his first meetings with Jane, swiftly disuaded with a kick and Clayton, almost causing a rifle misfire.
Powers, Skills, and/or Any Other Abilities:
Leaps and bounds: Tarzan has perfected fast travel by means of parkour like climbing. He can swing from vines, grind and slide on branches and leap long distance seemingly without a plan only to safely reach the next handhold.
Gorilla strength: Having grown up among the apes and spending most of his spare time playing with Terk has granted Tarzan greater than average human level strength and endurance. The best example of this strength would likely be putting an enraged alpha male gorilla in a full nelson hold to protect Jane, the Professor and Clayton.
Spear, knife and vine: Having made his own with sharpened rocks Tarzan has proven himself an impressive self taught fighter. With the use of strong jungle vines he can restrain even the largest of rampaging animals.
Living off the land: Learning from the apes has given Tarzan the knowledge of survival in the wild, what food is safe to eat and where to find it.
Excuse me, I speak hippo: Whilst sounding like grunts and assorted noises to the untrained, Tarzan can communicate with most animals. Some of the more violent ones like Sabor may not be willing to chat though.
Weaknesses/Flaws:
No shirt, no shoes no service: Given his upbringing, attire and lack of grooming, Tarzan would likely be shunned by the upper class.
No protection either: With his regular attire of a loincloth, Tarzan relies on his agility to keep him out of harms way. Aside from the toughening of his skin from his lifestyle he has no defense against any weaponry or magic.
Shirt and shoes, no skill: When Tarzan is wearing regular clothing such as his fathers suit he does not have the freedom of movement required for his climbing and shoes restrict his ability to grip.
No formal education: While reasonably smart, Tarzan has only recently learned speaking english and various aspects of civilisation. While Jane and the Professor keep him on the right track he is still somewhat naive and easily tricked by others if he has no reason to distrust them. He may not be tricked into putting his friends at risk like Clayton managed though.
No sense of personal space: He earned a kick to the head for this.
Canon History:
In the late 19th Century a trio of survivors of a burning ship ended up in the jungles near the coast of Africa, Lord and Lady Greystoke and their infant son. Providing for his family Lord Greystoke constructed a treehouse shelter from parts of the ship, sadly just in time for the rogue leopard Sabor to murder both parents. The infant survived thanks to a passing gorilla named Kala who took the child back to her pack intending to take care of him, having lost her child to Sabor previously. Kalas mate and pack leader Kerchak expressed reservations about her actions however.
The baby, named Tarzan by his adopted mother Kala, adapted the mannerisms of the gorillas he lived among, although he was initially treated as an outcast by the other children. Tagging along with his cousin Terk he was told that he'd be accepted among the others if he found an elephant hair as part of a bet. Tarzan easily plucked a hair from the tail of a bathing elephant but unfortunatly, spurred on by a nervous elephant baby Tantor mistaking him for a pirahna, caused a stampede that destroyed a large portion of the jungle. This further earned Tarzan the ire of Kerchak, but earned the respect of Terk and taught the child that life wasn't all games.
After several years the child became a man, modelling himself on Kerchak as a protector (whilst still finding time for fun with Terk and Tantor). At this point in his life Tarzan was confronted by his parents murderer Sabor. After a long drawn out battle with both fighters trading brutal wounds Tarzan emerged the victor, raising the leopard above his head and letting out a triumphant yell. Almost instantly afterwards a new group of creatures came to the jungle. Kerchak forbade the gorillas to interact with them, easier said than done.
On his usual trip around the jungle Tarzan rescued one of the newcomers from a pack of baboons. After a long chase the baboons agreed to back off in exchange for returning a piece of paper to the baby of the pack. Turning his attention to the newcomer Tarzan was suprised (after a brief awkward examination) to find that he'd saved an animal just like him. Eventually the female introduced herself, with some difficulty, as Jane and invited Tarzan back to her camp. She introduced Tarzan to her father Professor Porter, who saw scientific potential in meeting a man raised in the jungle and their bodyguard Clayton, who expressed frustration trying to communicate with the savage.
Over the next few months, thanks to Tantor and Terk covering his absence, Tarzan was educated in various subjects by the other humans. Communication was made easier after teaching him English, Jane showed some affection which was quickly returned, the Professor warmed up to him as a person and not an oddity and Clayton saw a potential guide to finding the animals hidden in the jungle. Eventually Clayton convinced Tarzan that he could gain the favour of Jane by leading them to the gorilla tribe. Whilst the meeting between both groups initially went well, Kerchak attacked when Claytons rifle misfired forcing Tarzan to put his father figure in a chokehold to protect his friends. These actions cause his exile from the gorillas, leaving him with no option but to leave the jungle. A last meeting with Kala at the Greystokes shelter gave him some reassurance about his chosen path.
On arriving at the ship Tarzan, Jane and the Professor were instantly seized by mutineers under the command of Clayton who revealed his intention to lead a group of poachers into the jungle and capture enough animals to make a modest fortune. Thanks to an improvised rescue by Tantor and a reluctant Terk the ship was retaken. Tarzan rushed back into the jungle to save his family. Jane and several other animals joined in the attack, freeing the captives and defeating the poachers. Kerchak and Tarzan confronted Clayton, each taking a bullet wound. The larger ape used his last breath to finally accept Tarzan as his son and turn over leadership of the tribe.
Tarzan pursued Clayton into a vine thicket, managing to bind the villain rather than kill him. Being upstaged morally by a 'savage' pushed the hunter into a rage, swinging his machete to free himself only to accidently cause his own hanging. Tarzan mournfully stood at the coastline afterwards as Jane and the Professor left, only to be happily suprised as they both jumped overboard with Jane promising to stay using the few ape words Tarzan had taught her. After a proper marriage thanks to the ships Captain the three settled in for a life in the jungle.
Game Information:
With the global changes Tarzans jungle has become part of Rohandor. This presents new opportunities to travel without leaving his guardian duties at risk.
Anything Else:
According to some of the Edgar Rice Burroughs stories Tarzans human given name is John. The surname varies between Greystoke and Clayton. Given events of this setting we'll just assume John Greystoke.

"Jane! I got lunch."
Tarzan dropped into the camp and laid his findings out on one of the tables. Getting no response he assumed Jane was currently elsewhere, doing one of their sketches perhaps. At least it would give him more time to check over his prize. Aside from the usual grapes, bananas and melons Tarzan had found a large fruit as long as his arm and twice as thick. It had a hard yellow shell with black rings at either end, a + and - with a long red line between them. Giving it a quick smack only produced a 'clang' noise. Maybe he should find Tantor to try and break it open, it was certainly big enough for everyone to share. Maybe the Professor had a tool that would work, or a book that would have the name of the fruit and where to find more. Maybe that was him rattling around in the tent.
"Professor?"
The tent was empty, but the rattling came from a closet in the corner. Maybe Terk playing around again. Tarzan pulled the handles open, gaping in shock as he came face to face the interior of a massive room with several creatures wandering around it. Something brushed past his leg causing him to look down seeing a round green man waltzing past. Aside from how short he was the most noticable feature was the single eye taking up most of his face.
"Okay Roz, I guarantee this is the right door."
"Just find it before I write you up Wazowski."
The green man ignored Tarzan as he walked out the tent and wandered around the camp. It walked over to the table and grabbed the large fruit before heading back towards the closet, stopping as Tarzan grabbed the other end. The green man turned glaring at him.
"Hey, naked guy? That's company property."
"Com-pany?" Tarzan raised an eyebrow confused but continued to hold on.
"Yes genius. Company. It's part of my weekly quota. and Mike Wazowski isn't losing his top spot on the board for nobody. "
"But....I found it." Law of the jungle in action.
The creature responded by kicking Tarzan in the shin, sprinting back towards the wardrobe and shutting the door behind him. Tarzan opened the door to give chase finding nothing but Jane's spare clothing hanging. This was getting weird. The Professor walked in a second later humming. He was smart, perhaps he could explain what had just happened.
"Afternoon Tarzan. Having a good day?"
"Oh, Hi Professor. I think there was a creature in the wardrobe. It stole the big fruit I found."
The Professor stopped to take in that statement, his moustache bristling with concern before he laughed. "Very amusing my boy. I know you had an unusual childhood but I think it's a little late for monsters under the bed."
"But.....nevermind." At least they still had the rest of the fruit.
