So far, everything was going well for Dr. Facilier. Neither set of his allies suspected that anything was amiss, and he intended to keep things that way for as long as possible.
Eventually, he would truly have to choose to which side he belonged, but that time had not yet come. He would continue to pass information back and forth, misleading each side just enough that there hadn't been any major skirmishes yet.
Today, though, the Mistress of All Evil had a job for him to do. He was to go to a place on the Isle of the Statue called Suburbia and he was to locate a woman called Shego. She hadn't been trapped in the Forever Stone and was most likely laying low.
Facilier, however, had a few tricks up his sleeve when it came to finding people who didn't want to be found. He'd had to utilize help from his "friends" on the Other Side before, but he'd learned, since then.
It also helped that Maleficent had given him something that would take him right to his target.
Instead of his usual homage to Baron Samedi, Facilier's wardrobe had been changed, today, so that he wouldn't stand out. He was much more comfortable in his usual ensemble, but he'd manage.
Besides, once he arrived at his destination, he could change with a snap of his fingers.
Which is exactly what he did.
He was standing (more comfortable, now, in his usual clothes) in front of what ... appeared to be a spa.
With a shrug, he headed inside, looking around.

At first, the shift had been no big thing-- Shego found herself with plenty of vacation time, now that the few villains that hadn't been locked in the Forever Stone were keeping to the shadows. But more recently, it was getting...dull. To be completely honest, the quiet of it all was driving her insane.
She'd give anything for some ludicrous death ray, or other nonsensical doomed-to-fail plan.
Stretching on the massage table, Shego paused at her own thoughts. Okay, maybe things weren't that quiet. But she was worrying about getting out of shape. She'd need to go embarrass the trainers at the gym this week, do something to ensure she wasn't rusty.
Opening her eyes, the green-skinned gal frowned at the figure in the doorway. Now, she was pretty damn sure he wasn't her masseuse. Sitting up from her relaxed position, it only took a second to spark her glow back to life, the strange flames burning around her hand as she took a more offensive pose.

Facilier leaned in the doorway, ever-present smirk on his face. The question wasn't exactly unexpected, but it still brought the pang that thinking about his mother always did.
"My mother was sick for most of her life and died when I was seventeen," Facilier quipped. Plus, as this was the first time he'd ever been in a spa, he hadn't known this would be a private room. He had thought it would be some sort of lobby or the like.
The flame-like substance that the woman was wielding didn't phase him in the slightest.
"That won't be necessary, Ms. ... Shego," he said, barely pausing on the unusual name. After all, his own name was Marion, which appeared to be unusual, outside of the Creole community. "I've come as an ally, not as an enemy."
Really, if the resident "hero" of this place found out who he was and that he was here, he'd be her enemy. So by the logic of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," this woman might listen to him.
But right now, all she had to go on was his word. If it came to a fight, he might not be the best, but he could hold his own. And he would, if it came down to it.
He hadn't been sent here to fight her, however; he'd been sent here to recruit her.
"I am Dr. Facilier," he said, sweeping his hat off of his head and into a low bow in one, fluid motion. "And I have come to discuss a few ... jobs with you," he added, standing up and putting his hat back on in one motion. Hopefully, that would at least interest her.
"An ally. Riiight." She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the statement, which in and of itself was pretty absurd. Waiting a moment longer, Shego seemed convinced the man wasn't going to suddenly advance, and she relaxed her stance-- though the glow continued to burn.
He didn't look like any of the residents of Middleton or any of the other places that had all merged together to form this...Suburbia. There was an accent in his voice, and try as she might, she couldn't place it.
After a moment of silent observation, she huffed out a breath and leaned back against the table, "Alright, you know my name and you've got my attention. Obviously you know who I am and you're not just messing around."
She walked behind the folding screen a moment, removing her robe to pull on her more casual ensemble; far from the green and black spandex anyone could recognize her in. Exiting the other side, she paused to crack her neck before looking back to the man, Facilier.
"So, get to it, then. Discuss. Believe it or not, I don't have all day."

Smirk still spread across his thin face, Facilier sat down in one of the vacant chairs in the room, gesturing to Shego that she could take the other, if she wished.
He leaned back in the chair, giving off an air of relaxation and a feeling of ease that this sort of mission would not have inspired in others. Which was perhaps why he was the one who had been sent.
"The woman who sent me is very powerful. Goes by Maleficent, but is more commonly known as the 'Mistress of All Evil.'" Facilier didn't pause to see if the name rang a bell with Shego; he was to deliver Maleficent's offer and then discuss.
"She's putting together a group of like-minded individuals, and she was hoping you'd be able to do some .... dirty work for her," he told Shego, leaning forward slightly in a confidante-like manner. "Of course, if you're too busy with ... whatever it is you're doing, I'm sure she'll understand."
Facilier leaned back once more, watching the woman with apparent disinterest. He knew that Maleficent wasn't exactly the forgiving sort, but he wasn't sure what she would do if someone refused her. After all, he'd agreed to her request for simply getting his sentient shadow back.
His shadow was behaving, at the moment, acting the way a shadow should. Which was a good thing. If it came down to it, he needed to have at least that trick up his sleeve.
Despite the objection that she had things to do, the truth was that Shego was bored out of her bloody mind. Of course, she wasn't just going to leap and accept this creepy guy's offer.
The woman waited until Facilier was done his little speech, leaning back against the table in thought.
"Maleficent. She's the lady with the horns, right?" Despite the sarcastic tone, Shego doubted there was a single person in the whole of Rohandor who didn't at least have an idea who Maleficent was. She was infamous as far as villainy goes.
Of course, if Mal could turn into a dragon, why she didn't just eat the little brat was beyond her.
"Haven't you heard? I'm retired," Shego cracked her knuckles before approaching Facilier, looking him over with a wary eye, "Besides, what could the Big Bad possibly need a bunch of henchmen for? You...are a henchman, aren't you? Seems a bit of an upgrade from sideshow freak."

The woman had struck a nerve. Living in New Orleans, being unable to "pass" for white, having a white father and a mother of color....he was a second-class citizen. And this woman had just called him a "side-show freak," which was near enough to some of the names he'd been called, growing up in a racist city.
Facilier's eyes narrowed, though he managed not to show any other outward sign of his anger.
Instead, he said, voice somehow calm and passing for cool, "That's rich, coming from a woman with green skin." He had to keep his cool, make sure that he did everything he could to bring this woman to Maleficent's side. If something he said or did drove her away, it wouldn't end well for him, he was sure.
"But, yes, you are correct; Maleficent wears a horned headdress and is the one leading the efforts against the goody-goodies."
"If you're not interested, though," Facilier said, standing, "I'm sure we can find someone else. I'll just have to tell Maleficent that you've gone soft in your retirement and wouldn't be able to do what she wanted. Pity, really."
He ignored the henchman comment. Facilier was just a messenger, not a henchman.
Shego's glow flared to life once again, apparently fuelled by her irritation and anger towards the man. It wasn't so much the green skin comment-- She was far past over that.
No, it was the implication that she couldn't do whatever horn-head wanted from her. Sure, she'd been out of the game a little while, but she wasn't going soft. Why was everyone saying that lately? There was a big difference between taking a little vacation time and turning into a fluffy goody two-shoes.
The green fireball launched at Facilier, missing him by mere inches.
"Who said I couldn't do...whatever it is she wants me to do? I can do--" Shego hesitated, cursing the phrase that almost left her mouth before shaking her head and pointing at Facilier, the flames still glowing around her fingers, "I can handle it, okay? What does she need?"

Facilier watched with apparent disinterest as the woman grew ever more angry, green glow once again engulfing her hands. He'd been warned about her temper, which meant that he was less-than-impressed by such a show of it.
After all, his own temper had cost him the plan he'd come up with to force his father to acknowledge him. And thanks to that, things had been going ... less than well for him for quite some time.
They'd started to look up, now, because he was earning from the citizens of Andalasia, who didn't care that he was Creole, and he was being provided for by both sides of the war that hadn't yet broken out.
Hopefully, this woman would shelve her anger for a little bit and look at the benefits that were involved. The first of which was getting back into the field. Facilier had read about Shego, and she didn't seem the type to just sit around, getting massages, for very long. She needed to be doing things.
"You're the one who essentially said you couldn't do it," Facilier said, his tone somewhere between sickly sweet and almost taunting. "But, if you'd like to change your mind, I'm sure Maleficent would be more than happy to employ you."
He had no idea if Maleficent would pay the woman or offer her something, the way she'd done with his shadow, but it didn't hurt to imply that she'd receive some sort of payment. After all, his payment had been his shadow's return to sentience, something that only he had wanted. Perhaps her payment would be tailored to her wants and desires, the way it had been tailored to his.
Standing up, another smirk slipped onto Facilier's face. "She wants you to find a lamp. One that contains a genie called Jafar."
"A lamp. A genie lamp." She repeated, as if clarifying but truthfully just not actually believing what she was being told. Of all the ridiculous things... But with the changes going on in Rohandor, she should have expected something magic and totally crazy.
Wonderful. She'd gone and run her freaking mouth and now she's off to play hide-and-seek with another super villain's lost toys. Something told her, however, this wouldn't require as many of her skills as they seemed to think. After all, it was a lamp. It wasn't likely to be under lock and key.
Her fingers twitched at her side, before Shego settled her hands on her hips, watching the good Doctor. "And where is this ooky lamp supposed to be, hm? I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's not in in Suburbia, right?"
Because that would have been too easy and not nearly as fun.

A smirk slipped onto the Shadow Man's face at Shego's words. Apparently, he'd gotten through to her. Or at least, that's how it appeared. Hopefully, she was going to follow through on her interest instead of simply asking questions about everything and then deciding that no, she really didn't want to take the job.
"And therein lies the difficulty," Facilier said in response to her question. "The lamp is currently in possession of a woman called Narissa, former Queen of Andalasia. Maleficent still wants Narissa on her side, but she doesn't want to upset her potential ally by taking the lamp herself. That, of course, is where you come in."
Facilier was glad he was only delivering this message; he didn't want to run afoul of any genies, controlled or otherwise. He'd heard his fair share of stories about genies who would twist their masters' wishes to suit their own needs, much the way he did with his deals, at times. No, he was enjoying his position on the sidelines, and he wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible.
"Oh, and should anyone discover what you're after, Maleficent would prefer it if you didn't advertise who you're working for," he added, remembering another stipulation. "There's much at stake, and if you should fail," he smirked, raising an eyebrow, "Which is, I admit, unlikely, no one is to know why you went after the lamp."
Which was where her association with that fellow called Drakken would come in handy. "Considering the type of person you usually work for, it shouldn't be too hard to imply that he's the one who sent you," he commented, almost off-handedly. Today was starting to look up.
"So, the vibe I'm getting here is that Mal doesn't want Narissa to know she's stealing from her. Take the thing, make it subtle, divert attention." Well, so long as the ex-Queen didn't have the lamp under lock and key and laser, this would be a piece of cake.
And when the good Doctor continued on his explanation, Shego couldn't help but resist the melodramatic rolling of her eyes. Every villain today wanted subtlty. She missed the good-old-days when people left calling cards and dramatics. Now it was just 'money this' and 'money that.' New kinds of villainy.
"Mhm. Mhm. So, basically; steal from Queen-y for the Mistress of All Evil, be subtle and keep my mouth shut?" Glancing at her hands a moment, Shego cracked her knuckles before grinning at Facilier, a glint in her eyes revealing more excitement at having something to do than she may have wanted anyone to know about.
"Where do I find Narissa?"
{ This reply is bad and I feel bad. }
