No school. No homework. No Tweebs to look after. No plans with Ron. No parents demanding she do her chores. No global crises to solve. No-one else in the house. Absolutely nothing to do. Yes, Kim thought, this was going to be a good day. She hadn't had a day off in so long, it felt like it had been forever since she'd had time to herself. There was always something that inevitably came up, be it a mission to save the world or a mission to babysit some child in Middleton. Or cheer team practice. Or her parents' plans. Or a date with Ron. Or a sudden change to homework submission deadlines. Or--
Her thoughts were interrupted by a faint crashing noise. "Huh. Thought the Tweebs had left already..." Kim muttered, rising from the couch where she had been lying so comfortably to seek out the source of the sound.
Not long after, a thunderous explosion rocked the Possible house, nearly knocking an unprepared Kim off her feet. She regained her balance quickly, and rushed to the nearest window. Black smoke was billowing in the distance--judging from the location, it was probably coming from the bank.
"Okay, that was so not the Tweebs." With a sigh, Kim dashed upstairs to don her mission gear. All plans to have a 'lazy day' to herself would have to be put on hold. Some villains really ought to learn to give advance notice for their evil schemes. That was one thing she sort of liked about Drakken. As irritating as he could be, he almost always ended up spilling the details of his plans to her, which made her job so much easier.
After a quick glance in the mirror, Kim was ready to go. More sounds of chaos were coming from outside. The redheaded heroine wasted no time, and was out the door and running towards the bank in seconds. She ran two blocks before she realized she probably wouldn't get there in time at the rate she was moving. It was time to switch tactics. She took her grappling hook hairdryer from its holster, fired it at the top of the tallest building nearby, and let the rope retract, pulling her upwards. Soon, Kim was leaping across buildings, occasionally swinging across the streets with her grappling hook. This was much faster, she thought with a grin, and far more fun.
It didn't take too much longer for the teen heroine to reach the roof of still-smoldering bank. There was a gaping hole in the wall, and through the smoke Kim could almost see someone moving in the wreckage, though she couldn't tell whether they were friend or foe. Hanging her grappling hook on the edge of the roof, she rappelled down towards the opening and leaped inside, ready to fight a greedy villain or rescue an innocent civilian.
(OOC: This can definitely be a multi-person thread--there could be a villain and a hero inside! Or several villains. Whatever floats your boat!)
Now that Dr. Drakken had decided that he was going to do a few jobs solo, he needed some cash in order to get started. Usually, Shego was the one to do things like this, but he had to prove (to everyone, really) that he didn't need her! He could do things perfectly well on his own! He was Dr. Drakken, criminal genius and supervillain! He didn't need anyone!
Of course, stealing from the bank in Middleton probably wasn't his best idea ever (okay, let's face it; it definitely wasn't his best idea, considering), but it was close to home and he couldn't afford to go somewhere else yet. Granted, once he had his hands on the money inside the bank, he could go elsewhere to steal, elsewhere that didn't have Kim Possible.
This time, though, he was expecting the teen hero. And he was .... more or less prepared. Now that he had a little bit more control over his vines, he could use them to his advantage.
As the smoke was clearing, who should appear but his teen foe.
"On time as ever, Kim Possible!" Dr. Drakken crowed, a smirk slipping onto his face. "But this time, I'm several steps ahead of you!"
At least, he thought he was. Pulling a device out of the bag that didn't hold the money he'd stolen, he activated it, causing smoke to seep into the room. But not quite as he'd expected.
In addition to surrounding Kim Possible, the smoke also got in his own eyes, making him cough. Waving a hand in front of his face to clear the smoke away from him, he pressed a button on his belt, summoning his escape vehicle to the area. He'd had to resort to regular means of transportation, with Shego currently in retirement.
Drakken had made some refinements to his gravatomic ray, though, which he had currently stashed in his supply bag. If he had to, he could use his vines and his gravatomic ray to get out of this. He just wanted the money, right now.

Kim suppressed the urge to roll her eyes. Of course Drakken was behind this. Who else of her foes would be reckless and arrogant enough to try and commit such a blatant crime in her hometown? At least it was something simple this time--Shego wasn't there to help him, he hadn't taken anyone hostage yet, and he didn't appear to be using the place as a base of operations for something bigger. A little bank robbery by one person was easy enough to handle, even if it meant fighting Drakken and his weird vine-things.
She was just about to throw a snippy retort back at him when the smoke started to fill the room. The teen heroine crouched low to the ground where the smoke was thinner, creeping closer to where she thought Drakken had been standing. She had to squint to see anything through the haze, but sure enough, after a few more cautious steps, she caught sight of a familiar dark blue coat.
With a smirk, Kim sprang forward, tackling the self-described evil genius around the waist in an attempt to bring him down. The wind was knocked out of her for a brief moment when they hit the ground, but she recovered in time to finally deliver that comeback she'd been waiting to give with a triumphant grin."Yeah, you will be several steps ahead of me, Drakken--when I personally put you back in jail!"
She did her best to pin the villain down while she grabbed for the second bag he was holding, that she hoped held the money he had taken. If Drakken did get away from her this time--though she doubted he would, without Shego there to back him up--she could at least make sure his efforts today were in vain.
Drakken wasn't sure where Kim went; he couldn't really see very well due to all of the smoke he'd caused. That hadn't been his best plan, but it had slowed her down a bit, at least. He was looking around, trying to locate the teen heroine when she leapt at him, knocking him to the ground.
It took her a moment to get her comeback out, but by that point, Drakken was working on getting the upper hand again. Kim had snatched the bag containing his gravatomic ray and the rest of his supplies, but he still had the money. If he had to, he could abandon the other bag. But he was going to stand up to her himself (for a change)! With a smirk, Drakken concentrated on sending his vines to do his bidding: one grabbed Kim around the ankle and tripped her up while the other snatched his bag of supplies from the cheerleader.
"Aha!" he shouted in triumph, "You'll find you're going to have to try a lot harder than that, Kim Possible!" he crowed, keeping both of his bags close. It wouldn't do to let her know which one held the money he was after and which one contained his supplies.
Turning around to conceal which bag he was pulling from, Drakken grabbed his gravatomic ray and pointed it at the cheerleader, grinning wildly. "I've made some modifications to my gravatomic ray," he told her, edging towards the exit of the bank, "And you'll find it's quite a bit more handy, now." He pushed the memory of the first time he'd used the gravatomic ray against Kim Possible firmly out of his mind; that was in the past, and this ray was new and improved! Guaranteed to work against teenage heroes. And she didn't have her sidekick, which meant this was more of a fair fight, being one-on-one.

She remembered too late about Drakken's new power, and was completely unprepared when a vine pulled on her ankle, and another snatched the bag from her. She hit the ground with a thud, but quickly pulled herself up into a defensive crouch once the villain's back was turned.
"Believe me, I--" Kim trailed off mid-sentence when Drakken turned back to face her. She narrowed her eyes, glaring at the device. The gravatronic ray--she remembered Drakken using it during one of their earliest encounters. The situation would have almost been nostalgic, if it weren't for the fact that the ray was likely even more dangerous than before.
She threw herself off to the side in a somersault, hoping that a smaller target would be harder for Drakken to hit. He did have a bad track record when it came to combat, though his plant powers did give him a bit of an advantage now, and she wasn't sure what had been added to the modified gravatronic ray. Evidently, she would have to work harder than usual to find a gap in Drakken's defenses this time.
The self-proclaimed evil genius laughed as Kim Possible dove out of the way of the beam of the gravatomic ray, that he hadn't yet fired. "You saw what my device was capable of last time," he said, adjusting a few things on the weapon in his hand, "so you'll be able to appreciate the difference."
Without further ado, he aimed the gravatomic ray at Kim Possible once more and fired, the beam shooting out and hitting Kim square in the chest (a lucky shot!), rendering her temporarily weightless. Drakken watched as his teen foe floated past him, a smirk on his face.
"I told you I'd made modifications to the gravatomic ray!" he crowed in triumph. "And now that I have the money I need, I can return to my plans for world domination!" Of course, those original plans would have to be expanded upon, to include the whole of Rohandor, but he was flexible; he'd manage. After all, he wasn't an evil genius for nothing!
Making a few more adjustments on his gravatomic ray, Drakken smirked at Kim again, enjoying his gloating. It had been such a long time since he'd had a good gloat that this was even better than his victory had been.
"Behold, Kim Possible, the weapon that, in addition to rendering whatever the beam touches weightless, also acts as a powerful Moodulator!" he said, cackling evilly (and unlike some other villains, he didn't have to practice his evil laugh). "With this, I can control the entire population! Everyone will be coming to me to put their feet on the ground once more!" It was brilliant!
((OOC: This post is SO bad, Kat. Let me know if it's okay or if you'd like me to change anything. ))

Kim had just come out of her somersault when she felt the gravatronic ray hit her. She glared at Drakken, indignant, as she floated upwards. It was hard to believe that she was losing a fight to him, of all people--not only was it an injury to her self-esteem, she thought, it was an attack on her near-spotless track record.
For a while during Drakken's gloating, she kept silent. Kim knew this was usually the point at which Drakken would reveal at least some crucial part of his scheme after enough goading on her part, giving her just enough information for her to defeat him quickly and easily. She waited for a pause in his speech, then cut in. "Yeah, because world domination's been such a great career for you so far. Seriously, you've tried so many times, I'm willing to bet you've run out of schemes." She smirked, feeling that she was on much firmer ground--if not literally, then at least figuratively.
Her stomach lurched at the thought of being subjected to the Moodulator again, especially with Drakken controlling it. While he was wrapped up in his evil monologue, his aim with the ray had shifted, allowing Kim to drift closer to the wall. She twisted in the air to get herself into position, then planted her feet firmly against the wall and shoved off, hurtling herself out of the range of the ray and straight towards the supervillain.
"Ah, but this is a new world, Kim Possible," he said with a smirk. "New worlds call for new schemes, of which I have plent--," he started to say, but before he could finish his sentence, Kim Possible was throwing herself at him. Really, he should have seen that coming, but he had been out of the game for a while.
With a shout, Drakken tried to dive out of the way of the teen hero, but he wasn't nearly quick enough. Kim's leap had launched her right at the supervillian, and he fell to the ground, trying to keep all of his belongings with him. Unfortunately, the bag with the cash slipped out of his grip.
Gathering his bearings quickly, Drakken glanced around the room, locating the bag he'd dropped. He worked on fiddling with the gravatomic ray to send another beam at his foe even as one of his vines snaked its way across the room, snagging the bag he'd worked so hard to obtain. Drakken was not about to lose this time, not when the future of his supervillain operations rested on keeping this money. Without it, he'd have to get a menial job to fund his plans, and that simply wouldn't work at all. Taking over the world was an expensive business!
"Let's see you how you like a taste of my new Moodulator, Kim Possible!" he exclaimed, finally managing to turn the right lever to switch on the Moodulator part of the ray. He set it to uncontrollable sadness, turning the ray on the teenager. The ray, coupled with her already unstable teenage hormones was just the thing to disarm her quite nicely.

Finally, it seemed the fight was going her way. Kim landed in a crouch, grinning at the sight of Drakken collapsed on the bank's tiled floor. It was about time things got back to normal--'things' meaning the general dynamic between Kim and Drakken.
He would come up with an evil scheme, and she would foil it, again and again. It had always been that way, and truth be told, she kind of enjoyed the repetition. With everything else seeming to be in a constant state of flux--school-related things in particular--it was nice to have one thing that she could always be certain of.
Or, she thought as he aimed the ray at her once more, perhaps their antagonistic relationship wasn't as clear-cut as she had thought. Time had a way of idealizing the past. But it also enabled one to learn from their past mistakes. This time when he fired, she waited until the last possible moment to dodge, springing up and diagonally to the side. From there, she vaulted into a front flip. Her legs kicked out at the ray Drakken was holding.
Generally, Drakken wasn't nearly quick enough, physically, to dodge Kim Possible's attacks, but he'd discovered that his vines acted with a thought, something that decidedly worked to his advantage. Even as Kim Possible was flying at him, intent upon kicking the ray out of his hands, one of Drakken's vines snapped out to grab hold of her leg, keeping her from reaching him.
"Aha!" he shouted, surprised and triumphant at the same time. He hadn't been expecting to be able to intercept Kim Possible mid-flight, let alone so efficiently. If things kept going like this for him, he wouldn't need Shego.
.....Yes, he would. But he wasn't quite ready to admit that just yet. He knew he needed her and she no doubt knew he needed her, but he wasn't quite ready to go looking for her. Drakken would give her a bit more time to come back to the evil fold before he sought her out. At this moment, he wasn't quite desperate enough. He had to do some more failing on his own, first.
With a smirk, he actually directed his vine, holding Kim Possible upside-down by her leg. "You think you're all that, Kim Possible," he crowed, laughing gleefully, "but you're not."
And then, he had a sudden idea. He'd tried cutting his vines off before, when they'd first started growing, so why couldn't he do the same sort of thing now? But first, to deal with Kim Possible.
Sending another vine to the teen hero, he moved her over to the vault door, using his vines to tie her to it. "Take that, Kim Possible!" he said, making sure that she was secure before pulling out a pair of scissors and cutting his vines. Drakken winced as the scissors went through the vines (it did hurt to cut them off), but he was quite pleased with his success today.
"Let's see you get out of that!"
[Exit Drakken]
((OOC: If this is too godmody, let me know! I'll be more than happy to change it, dearest. :3))
Kim's momentum stopped so quickly she nearly got whiplash, and her optimism plummeted with about the same speed. The last time she'd had to work this hard to fight Drakken had been when he'd tried to take over the world with an army of Lil' Diablos, but he'd had Shego and other henchmen helping him then. Was history repeating itself? She dearly hoped not--if it was hard fighting Drakken now, she shuddered to think how difficult it'd be to defeat him once he had more resources to use against her.
She glared at him as best she could from her upside-down position. It wasn't just his triumph that was irking her--she'd been looking forward to having one quiet day all to herself, and Drakken just had to show up and ruin it. That was just like him, she had to admit, but it still stung.
"I could say the same for you." She sniped at him. "Seriously, get some new insults." It wasn't a response up to her usual standards, but with the blood rushing to her head, it was kind of the best she could do.
She was just starting to see spots when she was suddenly turned upright again--only to find herself tied to the door of the vault Drakken had just broken into by his vines. At this point, Kim couldn't even take comfort in the awkward way he cut himself loose from the vines holding her.
Thankfully, Drakken didn't stay to gloat. Unfortunately, that meant that even if Kim managed to wriggle out of the vines in the next few moments, she likely wouldn't be able to catch him today. Still, she was determined to free herself as soon as possible. She was glad she was in the habit of keeping at least a few of her gadgets on hand no matter the situation, because her laser ring was exactly what she needed right now. After a few awkward seconds of removing her glove with one hand, she managed to point the ring in the right direction and cut through the vines with the laser.
It didn't take too long before she was freed, but it was long enough that Kim reckoned Drakken had long made his escape by now, and there'd be no catching up to him. With a sigh, she stepped over the fallen vines, mentally preparing herself to deal with the aftermath of his actions and go over the details of Drakken's heist with the local authorities once they finally arrived on the scene.
